Szent István University was established in 2000 by the merger of four institutions: the University of Agricultural Sciences of Gödöllő; the University of Veterinary Sciences of Budapest; the Ybl Miklós Technical College of Budapest and the Teacher Training College of Jászberény. The Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (FAES), situated on the Gödöllő Campus, was a part of the former Gödöllő University of Agricultural Sciences, and has a history dating back more than 80 years. The FAES and the central offices of the University are located in the town of Gödöllő, only 30 km from Budapest. It is easy to reach by rail, suburban train, bus, or car.

There are also smaller libraries with subject-oriented publications in the individual departments. |
HEALTH INSURANCE
Each student must provide his/her own health insurance. Health insurance can be obtained from various insurance companies. However in many cases, it is advisable to have additional or extra health insurance, as the costs for medical treatment in Hungary vary between state and private sectors, and in some cases costs might not be covered in full. It is also advisable to obtain separate insurance for flights home in the case of serious illness, as insurance companies rarely cover these costs. |
